Only visits to West Bridgford Recycling Centre will need to be pre-booked. You can use any of our 11 other sites without an appointment.
West Bridgford Recycling Centre will only allow pre-booked visits from 1 September 2020. You can book a slot using our online form.
The introduction of a booking system aims to control visits to the site in a safe and managed way for residents during the Coronavirus pandemic.
You must live within Nottinghamshire (excluding Nottingham City) and your vehicle also needs to be registered to use our recycling centres.
Booking slots are available every 15 minutes from 8.15am to 3.45pm, with eight available slots per 15 minutes and can be booked up to 2 weeks in advance. Same day bookings are now available at the West Bridgford Recycling Centre but you must ensure you show your email confirmation on arrival at the site or you will be refused entry.
If you need to visit a recycling centre at short notice all 11 other sites remain open as normal from 8am to 4pm and no booking is required.
Please note you can not make multiple bookings in any two week period. If you need to make multiple visits to a recycling centre you will need to use a different site within the county.
Cancelling your appointment
If you need to cancel your appointment at the West Bridgford Recycling Centre, you will need to:
- Log into your Nottinghamshire County Council Self account
- On the My Requests tab, find your original booking
- You will see a Cancel Appointment option, click Continue
- Follow the prompts to then cancel your appointment

- the date and time you wish to visit

What will happen next
You will be taken to our booking system to book a timed slot.
Please remember to bring an electronic or paper copy of your emailed booking receipt when you visit else you will not be allowed access to site.

Booking your visit
How to book your visit to a Medway household waste and recycling centre (HWRC)
You'll need to book a slot every time you want to attend and dispose of household waste. Slots will be limited.
You can only book two slots in any four-week period. Please do not make multiple bookings as this is unfair to other site users.
Each booking entitles you to one trip to the site only within your specified booking slot. If you turn up again within that booking slot you'll be turned away.
The booking system is in place to ensure:
- reduced spread of coronavirus (COVID-19)
- reduced impact on the road network
- we can contact trace if we have an outbreak within staff or customers
If you do not book, we will not allow you to enter the site and staff will turn you away.
Due to the high level of demand, this booking service is very busy. You may be placed in an online queue to help manage this. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We’ll be adding new slots daily.
You may be frustrated by the new systems in place, but we ask for your patience as they’re for everyone’s safety. Site staff will not tolerate abuse. You should read the full site rules before you book your slot.
To book your visit you'll need to provide your:
- name, address and email address
- vehicle make, model, colour and registration
Once you have supplied this information, you'll be able to book a day and time slot from the calendar.

After you’ve booked online, you’ll receive an email confirming the:
- date of booking and time slot
- booking reference number
- site you'll be visiting
Please keep this confirmation email, as you'll need to bring it with you when you visit the site.
Book by phone
If you do not have an email address (which is used to confirm online booking details) or the internet, you can book by phone.

Visiting the Capstone and Hoath Way sites
Capstone and Hoath Way sites are open at the following times every day:
Slot Ikeja Opening Hours
- 8am to 9:45am
- 10am to 11:45am
- 12 midday to 1:45pm
- 2pm to 3:45pm
This site will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Friday 1 January 2021.
Visiting the Cuxton site
The Cuxton site is open at the following times every day:
- 8am to 9am
- 9:01am to 10am
- 10:01am to 11am
- 11:01am to 12pm
- 12:01pm to 1pm
- 1:01pm to 2pm
- 2:01pm to 3pm
- 3:01pm to 4pm
Please stagger your visits during this time frame to avoid queuing on the road, as Cuxton is close to major network routes.
This site will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Friday 1 January 2021.
Permitted vehicles
Check the list of permitted vehicles.
You can visit Capstone in a car or small van. You can only visit Cuxton and Hoath Way in a car.
Kent residents who need to visit a site with a van, must book a visit to a household waste and recycling centre in Kent.

You need to visit the Kent County Council website to book a visit to a Kent household waste and recycling centre.
When you visit
Please arrive within your booked slot. If you gave us your email address, your slot will be shown on your confirmation email.
You can visit at any time during your booked slot. Each booking entitles you to one trip to the site only within your specified booking slot.
You should stagger your visit and especially avoid opening times. This is to help us manage traffic flow.
If you miss your slot our staff may turn you away.
Do not visit a HWRC if you're:
- extremely vulnerable and are remaining at home for shielding purposes
- showing symptoms of coronavirus
- in a 14-day household isolation period
